As part of its ongoing growth strategy, the company is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Manager to play a key role within its high-performing finance team.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will take ownership of property and client accounting activities across a varied and complex portfolio. This is a highly visible role offering significant stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to contribute directly to the financial performance and strategic direction of the business.
Key responsibilities include;
Partner closely with divisional directors and senior stakeholders.
Oversee financial reporting and management accounts across multiple property portfolios and SPVs.
Review month end journals including pre-payments, accruals and balance sheets etc
Coordinate the preparation of operational asset level and service charge budgets with property management teams
Produce detailed rental income and expenditure reports, including variance analysis against forecasts and budgets.
Manage cash flow forecasting and treasury activities.
Review and authorise supplier invoices for payment runs
Monitor rental income collection, tenant deposits and revenue allocation.
Prepare and maintain accurate rent accounts, including incentives and capitalisation schedules.
Deliver quarterly rental income performance analysis and year-on-year growth reporting.
Reconcile multiple PropCo bank accounts and oversee cash management activities.
Monitor and report on capital expenditure relating to maintenance and development projects.
Coordinate the preparation of monthly Landlord statements detailing income and expenditure
Manage arrears reporting and support collection strategies.
Maintain accurate tenant ledger records and account reconciliations.
Lead year-end accounting processes including service charges and coordinate external audit requirements.
Preparation and review of VAT returns
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, directors, asset managers, property managers and external stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be degree educated preferably in accounting and finance with either full or part qualification ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
In addition, you will have acquired commercial experience as a Finance Manager, Assistant Finance Manager or Senior Accountant with the property and real estate sector preferably with direct experience reporting on operational property and real estate assets.
Alternatively, the client is also keen develop candidates who are looking to step up into a more senior position as part of their career development who have a background as a Property / Senior Property Accountant, Client Accountant, Client Accounting Manager or Management Accountant.
Skills & Experience
You will be proficient with the preparation of property accounts, rental income and expenditure reporting with variance analysis, approval of sales and supplier invoices, service charges, receipt and allocation of revenue, multi-entity reconciliations, VAT, coupled with year end accounting functions.
Finally, you will have exemplary written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders and multi-disciplinary teams.
