We’re partnering with a high-profile transport business to hire a Procurement Manager reporting directly into the Procurement Director. This is a high-visibility, generalist role with real ownership across multiple spend categories, particularly engineering.

What you’ll be doing

• Owning end-to-end sourcing activity across a broad spend portfolio, with a key focus on engineering
• Acting as a true business partner to senior stakeholders – challenging, influencing, and driving better commercial decisions
• Leading complex tenders, negotiations, and supplier selection processes
• Using spend data and insight to shape strategy, not just report on it
• Driving supplier performance and building relationships that deliver long-term value
• Working cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Safety, and Projects to ensure robust, compliant procurement delivery
• Identifying and delivering continuous improvement across procurement processes and supplier base
• Supporting sustainability and cost optimisation initiatives across the business

What we’re looking for

• A commercially sharp procurement professional who operates confidently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong generalist procurement experience, with exposure to engineering or technical categories
• Proven track record of running tenders and negotiating meaningful commercial outcomes
• Someone who can manage complexity, prioritise effectively, and deliver under pressure
• A confident communicator who can influence stakeholders at all levels
• Analytical mindset – comfortable turning data into actionable insight
