The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Payments and Projects Assistant looking to make a real difference to people’s lives, homes and communities across Wales.

 

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you will have a genuine passion and interest in what we do as an organisation and a good understanding of accounting systems. You will be able to communicate confidently with both financial and nonfinancial colleagues, and it would be ideal if you have previous experience working in a finance team.

You will need strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and solid knowledge of accounting processes including proficient use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, including the confidence to question and challenge in a constructive way.

 

What will you be doing?

Creating the Wales & West Housing Group payment runs and collating all information required by the Financial Controllers to support any payments being presented for payment.

Reviewing and verifying payment requests to ensure compliance with company policies and payment expectations.

Acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding Supplier on-boarding, discrepancies, and resolution of issues

Support the Finance Team Leader and other Finance Managers in the identification and implementation of improvement projects.

Providing system support where necessary to the wider Treasury and Payments team when required.

 

What’s in it for you?

Salary £30,178 - £33,215 per annum.
