About us

The UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences (FBS) is a global leader in research and education focused on the mind and brain. Our vision is to solve the greatest health and wellbeing challenges in brain sciences to reduce the global burden of disease and transform society.

Established in 2011, the Faculty brings together world-class expertise in psychology, psychiatry, prion diseases, ophthalmology and vision, language sciences, audiology, deafness and hearing, neurology, and basic neuroscience.

 

It comprises six academic departments:

• Division of Psychology and Language Sciences • Division of Psychiatry • Queen Square Institute of Neurology • Institute of Ophthalmology • Ear Institute • Institute of Prion Diseases

 

About the role

The Faculty Administrator will work with the Faculty Executive Assistant and Faculty Executive Support Manager to support the smooth functioning of the Faculty as a whole. The Faculty Administrator will primarily provide administrative support to various members of the Senior Leadership team such as the Deputy Dean and the Vice Deans. The role involves a wide range of tasks in areas such as diary management, events, finance, space and office management, and health & safety.

 

This role is part time (0.5 FTE / 18.25 hrs per week).

The salary is UCL Grade 6 (full time equivalent £36,433 - £42,891 per annum, including London Allowance / pro-rata for part-time staff)

This role is NOT eligible for visa sponsorship.

 

About you

Successful candidate will be educated to A level standard/NVQ Level IV administration, or have substantial relevant experience working in an administrative role, incorporating EA/PA responsibilities, within a large or complex organisation.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate a flexible approach, capable of responding to changing priorities and providing support across different areas as required to meet core deadlines.

The successful applicant should demonstrate substantial office/administrative experience including diary management and organising meetings and events. They should be able to take direction and to work independently, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and have high level organisational and time management skills. We are looking for someone who is proactive and who takes initiative, someone who is willing to take on new tasks, who is a problem solver and who works well in a team.
