H&M Distribution Limited, one of the leading suppliers of distribution services within the UK, is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join its busy Finance team.

The Assistant Accountant will play a key role in supporting the finance department by managing essential accounting processes that support business performance and compliance. This is a development role with progression opportunities and financial study support.

Responsibilities

Weekly support of P&L production

Group cash book postings

Ad hoc manual invoicing

Reconciliation of key balance sheet accounts

Short-term cashflow forecasting and monitoring

Handling invoice queries

Management of company credit card processes

Ad hoc account analysis

Assisting with year-end audit preparation

Learning to support all areas of the Finance function

Person Specification

Part-qualified AAT or CIMA

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Strong IT skills, including Excel

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills

Flexible and adaptable to change

Flexible approach to working hours

Genuine enthusiasm for delivering high-quality work

Well organised with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Keen to develop finance skills through continuous learning
