Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Administrative Officer within the Maritime Data Assessment Centre (MDAC), which is part of the Defence Intelligence organisation, supporting key MOD operational outputs. This role is suited for a highly organised individual with good communication and IT skills. Prior experience of working within a military environment would be beneficial but not essential.
The position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description
You will provide administrative support to MDAC which is a 24/7 operational unit.
Responsibilities
You will act a focal point for personnel joining and leaving the unit, liaise with the individuals and line managers, maintain accurate personnel records on designated HR systems.
You will create correspondence, as appropriate (i.e. drafting emails, writing letters, making phone calls) relating to the administration of the unit personnel .
You will support MDAC personnel with booking of travel, issuing of authority references and liaise with the Station Travel Cell and military accommodation cells as required.
You will assist with the processing of allowances associated with service moves/detachments, as directed.
You will assist with position management/service establishment changes to requirements on MyHR/JPA/SLIM as directed.
You will conduct scrutiny and validation checks on MyHR/JPA claims, as required and directed.
You will act as a Records Manager and complete other Information Management qualifications in support of MDAC.
You may undertake additional tasks within Health and Safety, First Aid and Building Custodian roles.
You will place monthly orders for stationery, printer consumables and assist with other local purchasing orders as required.
You will assist with Civil Service recruitment administration.
You will complete all mandatory training within the timelines designated for completion.
You will undertake any other ad hoc administrative tasks as commensurate for the grade, as designated by the unit Warrant Officer or Executive Officer.
Person specification
Sole UK National
Good organisation skills
Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good IT skills, including word processing, Outlook and Excel spreadsheets.
The ability to work as part of a team.
