Our Finance team not only take great pride to understand the value in the financial management of these projects, they ensure everything is compliant with the National Audit Office to help deliver year end accounts to Parliament.

Develop and grow your career with our international finance operation

When you join our friendly and collaborative Finance System team as Finance Lead Subject Matter Expert you’ll be responsible for the management and delivery of your colleagues’ Hera objectives. Leading on fixed assets, accounts receivable, cash management, general ledger, reporting and Oracle time and labour, you’ll also focus on the delivery of medium sized projects, and ensure that the team’s expertise and skills are fully and appropriately developed to enable them to support their work.

You’ll have a wide range of further responsibilities – these include managing, developing and aiding the personal progression of a B3 SME, and ensuring you keep abreast of changes in the FCDO Services’ business environment and functional Oracle developments. Always on hand to offer ‘Helpdesk’ assistance as you answer queries and provide expert guidance to our organisation’s Hera users, you’ll be ready to develop friendly working relationships with other SMEs, key business associates and external stakeholders. Also, in addition to being committed to ensuring that Hera change control processes are followed at all times, you’ll manage your own professional development, and enhance your knowledge of the Oracle Financials applications used by FCDO Services.

Deliver quality finance expertise with an organisation that defends the UK’s security

To be a success in this important role you should have well developed experience of working in a finance function, good practical understanding of at least two Oracle Finance modules, the ability to manage business change, and be part qualified CCAB, CIMA or their equivalent. A confident verbal and written communicator, you should also be a collaborative and highly motivated team worker.

Staff management experience would be desirable, as would some familiarity with project management and the commercial world. In addition, an up-to-date understanding of Artificial Intelligence would be an advantage, as would knowledge of tax and financial accounting and experience of working in a project delivery organisation with a diverse range of colleagues and stakeholders.
