Main Duties:

No managerial responsibilities, this will be a purely hands on technical accounting role.

Closedown the capital accounts for 25/26.

End to end assets accounting, a lot of revaluations, some depreciations and impairments, small number of intangibles.

Capital additions, other team members finalise the values, your job will be to allocate them to the right place.

There is no HRA so you will be dealing with purely general fund assets.

There may be some overlap but another team member will be doing capital finance business partnering, monitoring the capital programme etc.

Respond to audit queries on the assets accounts and act as a liaison on the capital accounts.

Successful candidates:

Must have specific Local Authority, Fire or Police service experience doing technical capital/assets accounting before with a strong understanding of Local Authority Code of Practice.

Must have end to end assets accounting experience.

Must be a fully qualified accountant.
