Job description

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting students and making a real difference to their university experience? The Department of Mathematics is looking for a proactive and organised individual to support students, coordinate events and training, and provide high-quality administrative support.

 

What you would be doing

Supporting and empowering students through a range of engagement activities, events and leadership initiatives.

Coordinating and delivering student experience events, training sessions and development programmes.

Working closely with Student Representatives, Student Ambassadors and academic colleagues to enhance the student experience.

Organising and servicing committees, maintaining accurate records and providing high-quality administrative support.

Producing student communications, including the weekly Maths Student Newsletter and updates across digital platforms.

Monitoring student attendance and supporting UKVI Student Visa processes.

Supporting the planning and delivery of key departmental events, including Induction, Open Days, Prize Ceremonies, and careers events.

Using student feedback and survey data to help improve the student experience.

 

What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)

Experience working in a student-facing or higher education environment.

Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work accurately.

Experience coordinating events, activities, or projects involving multiple stakeholders.

Experience supporting or coordinating volunteers, Student Ambassadors, Student Representatives or other student leaders.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, approachable, and proactive attitude

Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and engaging communications.

An understanding of the higher education student experience and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive community.

An awareness of UKVI Student Visa requirements and compliance processes is desirable.
