Orbital South Colleges Group is seeking a highly skilled and detail‑driven Senior MIS Data, Compliance & Timetabling Officer to take a lead role in managing the quality of learner data, supporting funding compliance, and overseeing the timetable and curriculum data processes across the College Group.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MIS professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, has a strong understanding of ILR and funding requirements, and can confidently lead and support a small team to deliver excellent data quality.

 

About the Role

As the Senior MIS Data, Compliance & Timetabling Officer, you will:

 

Lead the MIS Data Team to ensure the accuracy, integrity and completeness of all college data returns.

Oversee the timetabling process and support curriculum teams to deliver compliant, effective timetable structures.

Act as the specialist contact for all MIS data-related queries, building strong relationships across curriculum and support teams.

Monitor ILR data using tools such as PDSAT and Funding & Monitoring Reports, identifying and resolving issues.

Support the preparation and submission of error‑free ILR and statutory data returns.

Assist with internal audits, mock audits, data integrity processes and document validation.

Help maintain the annual curriculum plan and ensure alignment between timetabling and MIS records.

Provide training, guidance and reports to curriculum managers to enhance delivery and data accuracy.

Line manage the MIS Data Team, including carrying out 1:1s and supporting their professional development.

 

Essential Skills & Experience:

Degree/HND in Business, IT, or significant relevant industry experience.

Maths & English to Level 2.

Experience using student records systems or large databases.

Understanding of current UK post‑16 funding methodology.

Significant experience of working with government data returns for post‑16 funded learners.

Experience within post‑14 education.
