Job description
As a Project Support Officer, you will provide essential leadership and support within the Projects & Change Team. You will be responsible for managing a team, coordinating activities, managing resources, and implementing strategies and plans to ensure effective delivery of projects within your area of responsibility, business objectives and support for the delivery of APHA’s Delivering Sustainable Futures Strategy.
You will support the Project Manager(s) by operating project management processes and coordinating business management tasks and activities, across a number of organisational transformation projects in our Delivering Sustainable Futures Programme of Transformational Change.
All post holders will be required to carry out duties appropriate to the grade and purpose of the role including, but not limited to, the following:
- Leadership & Team Development: Ability to motivate, lead and support others, promoting development, teamwork and strong performance.
- Project Delivery & Continuous Improvement: Good working knowledge of project management and continuous improvement principles, with the ability to provide practical guidance to support delivery.
- Financial & Resource Management: Confidence in managing and monitoring financial and other resources, ensuring effective use, control and oversight.
- Analysis & Decision-Making: Sound judgement with strong analytical skills, providing clear, evidence-based advice to support informed decision-making within project environments.
- Organisation, Adaptability & Digital Skills: Excellent planning, prioritisation and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail; proactive and adaptable, able to work independently, manage changing priorities, and use Microsoft 365 tools effectively.
- Relevant Professional qualification in Project Management accreditation, i.e. Portfolio, Programme, and Project Offices framework, Project and Programme Support Office certification, Association for Project Management or equivalent or be willing to work towards within 12 months.
