Our Payroll Solutions team delivers tailored payroll services to a diverse client base, from small businesses to fully managed payroll operations. With continued growth, we’re looking for a Payroll Specialist to join us and play a key role in delivering accurate, compliant, and high-quality payroll services.
The Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you’ll take ownership of processing payrolls for a varied client portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a first-class client experience. You’ll also collaborate closely with colleagues and external bodies to keep everything running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Accurately process weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish across your allocated client portfolio
Ensure all payrolls are completed in line with internal procedures, compliance requirements, and client deadlines
Administer statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and other payroll-related entitlements
Manage BACS submissions and maintain accurate payroll records and audit trails
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice, ensuring ongoing compliance
Liaise with HMRC, clients, and internal teams to resolve queries and ensure smooth service delivery
Support payroll reconciliations, reporting, and continuous improvement within the payroll function
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally within a bureau or client-facing environment
Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
High attention to detail, with a methodical and accurate approach
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Confident using payroll systems (experience with PayCircle or Cintra is advantageous)
CIPP qualification (or working towards) is desirable
