Here at GXO, we’re looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join and support our site leadership team. In this pivotal role, you’ll partner closely with managers to deliver a high-quality, commercially focused HR service, helping to drive performance, engagement, and a positive workplace culture aligned to GXO’s values.

 

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, you’ll act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance across all aspects of HR while supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.

 

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, 08:00 till 16:00 with a requirement to be in office 5 days per week You will be working mainly from our Salmesbury office with occasional travel between sites. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

 

Pay, benefits and more:

 

We’re looking to offer a salary up to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company sponsored pension scheme.

 

What you’ll do on a typical day:

 

  • Providing expert HR advice to managers on employee relations matters, including absence, disciplinary, grievance, and performance management
  • Building strong, credible relationships with stakeholders across the site and influencing best practice approaches
  • Managing key HR processes end-to-end, including absence management, probation, flexible working, and family leave
  • Supporting recruitment activity and ensuring compliance with internal policies and processes
  • Being visible on-site (“walking the floor”), offering hands-on HR support and ensuring a people-focused culture is embedded

 

What you need to succeed at GXO:

 

  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor role within a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, including handling complex and sensitive casework
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • CIPD qualification (or working towards) and a proactive, self-starting approach
