We’re looking for a Financial Crime Analyst (Hybrid)

If you’re curious, analytical and enjoy getting into the detail, this could be the role for you. You’ll dive into suspicious activity, help protect small businesses from fraud and financial crime, and play a key part in keeping our processes sharp and secure.

 

The role

Investigate potential fraud and AML cases. Analysing complex indicators such as CIFAS alerts, facial biometric anomalies, device-based red flags, and signs of document tampering

Screen PEP, sanction, and adverse media matches efficiently and accurately

Take ownership of customer verification on a case-by-case basis, independently determining the necessary information required to reduce fraud and money laundering risks

Identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements to continuously optimise team efficiency

Partner closely with our Account Managers, Credit Analysts and Broker teams to balance robust fraud prevention standards with a fast, seamless service

Work alongside advanced AI-driven detection engines. Demonstrating a strong balance between data-driven machine learning insights and human investigative intuition.

 

The requirements

We look for people who are smart, humble, motivated and who are always looking to improve.

1+ years of experience within a financial crime related role

A solid foundational knowledge of fraud and financial crime

A confident communicator who is comfortable delivering constructive, candid feedback

Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a resilient, enthusiastic approach to regular change

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and making sound decisions based on limited data or guidance

A pragmatic, risk-based approach to case investigations

An analytical mindset paired with a practical, execution-focused style of problem-solving

Demonstrates curiosity to use and learn more about AI tools. You’ll already be comfortable using AI tools in practical ways to help solve problems, increase productivity and improve quality of work

Data analytics skills are an advantage

 

The salary

We expect to pay from £30,000 - £35,000 in Leeds and £35,000 - £40,000 in London for this role. But, we’re open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews.
