About the role
The Financial Accounting team is a high-profile, cross-functional function at the heart of Consumer Finance and EE Limited. This role sits within a team responsible for delivering expert financial accounting advice, supporting external reporting requirements, and working closely with Group Finance and external auditors.
You’ll partner with both Financial Control and Commercial teams to ensure robust, compliant financial accounting processes and policies are in place, playing a key role in maintaining strong governance and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting.
What you’ll be doing
Provide expert financial accounting advice across the business, ensuring principles are applied consistently and pragmatically.
Collaborate with BT Group teams on governance and corporate accounting matters, supporting robust decision-making and compliance.
Partner with commercial and operational teams to advise on complex transactions and new propositions, supporting effective implementation.
Co-own the preparation and delivery of EE Limited’s Annual Accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.
Lead balance sheet reviews, ensuring strong controls, high-quality reconciliations and alignment to accounting policies.
Support the delivery of external audits for Consumer, managing key outputs and stakeholder engagement.
Essential Skills / Experience
Qualified accountant: (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong grounding in financial accounting
Technical accounting expertise: Strong knowledge of IFRS, with the ability to interpret and apply standards in a practical, commercially balanced way across a range of business scenarios.
Accounting policy implementation: Proven experience implementing and embedding accounting policies, ensuring they are clearly understood, consistently applied and aligned to wider business and regulatory requirements.
Desirable Skills / Experience
Audit experience and knowledge: Strong understanding of external audit processes, with experience supporting audits, preparing deliverables and working closely with auditors to ensure timely, accurate and compliant outcomes.
