At phs Group, the UK's leading hygiene services provider, we're looking for an experienced Procurement Manager to take ownership of key product categories across cleaning, hygiene, washroom, janitorial and related consumable products. This is an exciting opportunity to influence commercial performance, optimise supplier relationships, and deliver innovative product solutions that support both customer satisfaction and business growth.

 

Working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, Sustainability and Finance teams, you'll lead category strategy, sourcing activities and supplier performance while managing and developing a Procurement Specialist to ensure effective day-to-day procurement delivery.

 

Your role as Procurement Manager at phs Group will involve:

 

  • Develop and deliver category strategies that improve commercial performance, service levels and supply resilience.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis, market insight and strategic sourcing activity.
  • Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and driving value across the supply chain.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging products and cost drivers to support informed business decisions.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, tenders and supplier evaluations.
  • Manage product portfolio development, stock availability and category performance.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support business objectives and customer requirements.
  • Coach, support and develop a Procurement Specialist.

 

The ideal candidate for a Procurement Manager at phs Group:

 

  • Demonstrable experience in procurement category management, with a strong background in cleaning, hygiene, washroom, janitorial, and related consumable product categories.
  • A strong track record of delivering category strategies, commercial value and measurable cost savings.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing significant supplier contracts.
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical capability and risk assessment skills.
  • Experience managing end-to-end procurement processes from sourcing through to contract implementation.
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and present confidently at senior level.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement systems/tools.
  • CIPS qualification, relevant degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
