Job description

As a Recruitment Officer, you will provide a professional, high-quality end-to-end recruitment service, supporting managers and candidates throughout the recruitment journey. You will play a key role in ensuring vacancies are filled efficiently while maintaining compliance with employment legislation and NHS employment standards and meeting national Time to Hire targets.

We are particularly interested in candidates with previous recruitment experience, who have a positive, proactive attitude and a good understanding of pre-employment checking processes.

Main duties of the job

  1. Provide expert guidance to managers on recruitment processes, employment legislation and equality and diversity principles.
  2. Manage all aspects of the recruitment process from reviewing new vacancies through to appointment.
  3. Advertise vacancies using NHS Jobs and other recruitment systems.
  4. Coordinate recruitment activities, including application management, interview arrangements and candidate communications.
  5. Escalate issues as required.
  6. Support recruiting managers with selection and appointment processes.
  7. Ensure all pre-employment checks are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including:
  • References
  • Occupational Health clearances
  • DBS checks
  • Professional registration verification
  • Right to Work and identity checks
  1. Produce and issue employment contracts and offer letters, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  2. Maintain accurate recruitment records and management information.
  3. Manage a detailed candidate tracker.
  4. Prepare recruitment reports and data as required.

12.Deliver a professional, customer-focused service to managers, candidates, and colleagues.

  1. Attend off site recruitment events as required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in administration or related subject or demonstrable equivalent proven experience.

Experience
