The Role

Your role
We are looking for an organised and proactive team player to join our busy Business Support team. As a member of our Business Support function, you will provide practical administrative support across a varied, hands on role, contributing to the coordination and delivery of a wide range of business initiatives.
Based in our busy Haywards Heath office, with remote supervision from our Lead for Business Support, you will support the smooth running of daily business operations for over 70 colleagues in the local office as well as centrally for the wider company.
Responsibilities will include
• Managing office administration and reception duties
• Supporting with coordination and booking travel arrangements
• Taking accurate minutes
• Maintaining document control
You will also support continued compliance with Quality, Environment and Health & Safety accreditations, while taking responsibility for aspects of financial management and helping to maintain suitable, well-controlled business documentation.
This role is based at our Haywards Heath office. It is part-time working 22.5 hours per week, preferably three days 8:30-17:00 hours with a one-hour lunch break or five half days 8:30 - 13:00 hours or 12:30 – 17:00 hours. JBA offers a flexible working scheme, including hybrid working from home. However, given the nature of this role, we would expect the successful candidate to spend proportionally more time in the office.
The team member we’re looking for
We are looking for someone who can carry out administrative tasks efficiently and handle business documentation with confidence and accuracy. You will be approachable, supportive of colleagues and proactive in prioritising tasks, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed. We value established secretarial and administration skills, and we will provide on-the-job guidance and training where necessary.
Qualifications
Five GCSE's A*-C including English and Maths, or equivalent.
A qualification in Business Administration or a related field is desirable however not essential.
Essential attributes for the role
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
• Competence in standard MS Office software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
• Previous relevant experience in administration, office support and document management.
• Organisational and planning skills, and the ability to self-manage.
• Flexibility to respond to business needs and prioritise key tasks.
• Good timekeeping, reliability and organisation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable attributes for the role
It would also be beneficial if you have:
• A current driving licence, to permit unsupervised driving in the UK.
• The organisational skills to contribute to an established Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety accredited management system.
• A qualification in Business Administration or a related field.

The role will be based at our modern and contemporary Haywards Heath office located on Perrymount Road. As well as boasting a city centre location, the Haywards Heath office is ideally located near to all transport networks and local amenities, including Haywards Heath train station which is only a 5-minute walk away. Situated a short drive away from the M23 and the nearest EV charging facilities, there is plenty of free on-street parking nearby for those travelling by road.
