As an experienced Project Manager you will undertake the day-to-day management of the project. Working closely with the Project Leads, you will draw on your knowledge of PM methodology(ies) to develop and manage the project plan, track progress against specified deliverables and budgets, and ensure that successful outcomes are achieved.

You will be expected use your influence and PM skills to identify and resolve issues, to mitigate risk, and to ensure effective communication and collaboration across a wide variety of stakeholders, while establishing effective working relationships at both Imperial College London and with partner Overseas Research Institutes. The role will require a pro-active approach and engagement with our collaborators across multiple geographical and functional areas of activity to define, manage, and deliver the project. Previous experience of managing projects within an educational, health/medical and/or non-commercial organisation is essential.

What we are looking for

• Educated to degree level with additional professional qualification in project management (i.e., Prince2 or equivalent) or significant relevant experience,
• Evidence of on-going professional development,
• Working knowledge of managing projects in an educational, health or other non-commercial environment,
• Experience of managing projects across multiple organisations. Detailed knowledge of formal project management techniques and tools for successful project delivery,
• Experience of developing and maintaining the project initiation document / project management and associated Gannt chart and controls,
• Experience of developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders,
• Experience of budget management and financial planning,
• Experience of scheduling and taking formal and informal minutes/notes at meetings of differing sizes and composition,
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with proven ability to prioritise, plan ahead and manage a high volume of work to meet deadlines, and to ensure that the project runs in an efficient and timely manner,
• Ability to work collaboratively and productively with colleagues and multiple stakeholders within complex management matrices in different geographical locations,
• Confidence and ability to provide active input into meetings, including presenting capacity and to navigate difficult situations and conflicting views with tact and diplomacy.
