WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
To become a Student Support Officer in our Specialist Learning Support department, we need someone who has excellent administration skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and strong communication skills.
The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.

This position is cross campus; all applicants must be prepared to travel to our other campuses or surrounding areas as required.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
To find a more detailed list of your day-to-day responsibilities, please refer to the key roles and accountabilities section on our Job Description. In summary, as someone who has the ability to build professional relationships, you will support in many aspects. To name a few:
To administer and maintain the student records, the requisite data systems to ensure all support and associated costs are recorded accurately and reflect the funding received by the College for the delivery of additional support utilising the EHCP and EFA funding streams.
Provide administrative support to meetings chaired by Specialist Learning Support Lead
To be the point of contact for enquiries from parents, staff and external stakeholders.
To coordinate the information recorded on Unit-e with the College’s MIS team to ensure the data recorded for the ILR is timely, accurate and up to date.
To coordinate the examination access arrangements, allocate the associated costs, approval is recorded on the Unit-e and all relevant parties are informed.
To work closely with the SLS lead in arranging specialist assessments by the Educational Psychologists, Speech & language Therapists, Integrated Specialist Support Services, etc.
To produce accurate invoices to those agencies providing support, e.g. Local Authorities, Training providers and Specialist Services, etc.
To complete administrative tasks regarding budgets, creating purchase order requests and invoice requests.
To request SEN information from High Schools and record on College database.
To support the organisation of transition visits for prospective learners.
To retrieve accurate and timely management information reports using College databases.
To coordinate the organisation of the phase transfer documents.
Request EHCPs from local authorities and record on College database.
To support and participate in the annual self-assessment review and reporting process for the Specialist Learning Support services.
To participate and support meetings as required, arranging meetings, producing agendas, taking minutes and providing minutes / notes as required.
To manage and respond to communications within the Specialist Learning Support inboxes.
To undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade and purpose of the post.
To assist and support the Specialist Learning Support Lead in the organisation of Learning Support Assistant duties within the SLS Team and monitor progress towards staff task deadlines.
