Job description
As an Information Support Assistant in our Defence Academy team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring information is managed effectively and securely, supporting both colleagues and customers in a fast-paced, service-focused environment.
Working within the Information Hub, you’ll help colleagues make the most of digital tools, deliver efficient information administration, and provide hands-on support that keeps operations running smoothly. Your work will have a real purpose – helping deliver high-quality education and services that support the Armed Forces, Civil Service and wider government, creating a positive impact on communities and the future.
What you’ll do as a Information Support Assistant
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Provide high-quality customer support through face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions
- Support information management processes, ensuring compliance with policies and standards
- Maintain and support collaborative working environments using Microsoft Teams
- Issue and support IT equipment, including first-line support for devices such as laptops
- Advise colleagues on effective use of IT systems and digital tools
- Identify and resolve issues, delivering practical, timely solutions

- Strong customer service skills with a professional and confident communication style
- A methodical approach with good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and an interest in technology
- The ability to manage your workload and stay organised under pressure
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build positive working relationships
- Be SC cleared or have no problems obtaining one.
