Reporting to the HR Services Lead, this role plays a key part in ensuring our HR services are delivered consistently, confidently and to a high standard. You’ll lead and develop a team of HR Business Partners and Assistant HR Business Partners, equipping them with the skills, confidence and tools they need to provide outstanding, values‑led support to their business areas.
You’ll be responsible for leading a broad, geographically dispersed business partnering team within a large and complex organisation, ensuring consistent, high‑quality HR support is delivered at scale.
Taking a whole‑service view, you’ll champion strong management practice, drive operational excellence, and ensure a consistent, high‑quality approach across employee relations and people processes. You’ll also act as a connector between strategic priorities and day‑to‑day operational realities, using insight and observation to continuously improve how our HR services are designed and delivered.
What you’ll be doing

- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex employee relations cases, balancing risk, compliance, organisational priorities and colleague experience.
- Take an end‑to‑end view of HR services – from recruitment and onboarding through to colleague experience, employee relations and offboarding – ensuring a consistently high‑quality, values‑aligned approach.
- Champion strong management practice across the organisation, using insight from day‑to‑day people processes to uphold and embed our culture and values.
- Identify patterns, trends and management capability gaps, working in partnership with Academy colleagues to design and deliver targeted training and development solutions.
- Act as a key interface between operational delivery and strategic people priorities, feeding back insight on process effectiveness and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with senior HR leaders, HR Services colleagues and business stakeholders to ensure alignment, consistency and continuous improvement in HR services.
- Use people data, feedback and observation to inform decision‑making and support service design, innovation and efficiency.

- The ability to balance empathy and compliance while delivering high‑quality, consistent HR support aligned to organisational values and culture.
- A track record of identifying capability gaps and partnering with learning or development teams to deliver practical, targeted solutions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor advice and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- A proactive, whole‑service mindset, comfortable joining up strategy and operational delivery.
- Confidence working with data and insight to improve HR services and colleague experience.
Qualifications and additional requirements:
- Educated to A‑level (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or working towards) is desirable.
