Job description

The University of Aberdeen is looking to recruit an individual with a proven track record in energy data handling and analysis. The successful candidate will join the Estates & Facilities directorate as Energy Data Analyst, assisting the Net Zero & Emissions Manager and the Energy Manager with all aspects of the collection, collation, management, and review of energy and utilities data drawn from a variety of sources, including from utilities metering and billing.

 

Job Description

The core functions of post holder will include coordinating the reading of utilities meters, as well as ensuring that they are calibrated and managed appropriately. They will ensure that utilities data is collated and logged in a timely and accurate manner, as well as undertaking initial analysis of the data to observe and identify trends or anomalies. Wider duties will include conducting building energy audits and the identification of opportunities to improve energy efficiency.

 

In doing so, the post holder will play a key role in supporting critical energy and emissions compliance and audit regimes, ensuring that the raw utilities data upon which these schemes rely is robust. The data will in turn be used to inform energy consumption trends, serving as the basis for utilities consumption projections and budgetary planning.

 

Based in the University’s Estates and Facilities directorate, the role is part of a wider team that is responsible for maintaining and managing all aspects of the University’s properties, facilities, buildings and grounds.

 

The successful candidate will have extensive professional experience in relevant energy, engineering, building services or environmental related disciplines. They should have proven experience across a broad spectrum of energy data handling, including metering, monitoring and data analysis. A relevant College or University qualification is welcome, but not essential for this post.

 

The position is offered on full or part-time basis, with duties adjusted accordingly. Salary will be pro rata at the appropriate point on the Grade 5 scale (£33,002 - £36.636 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
