Job description

We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Administrator to join our friendly and welcoming team. You will be joining us at a time of significant change, so you will need to be flexible, positive and willing to adapt as things evolve.

In this role, data accuracy is central to delivering an excellent student experience. Whatever the task, whether routine, complex or behind the scenes, you will approach your work with students at the heart of everything you do.

You will bring a keen eye for detail and feel confident working with data, spotting when something does not look right and taking steps to correct it. You will also be a skilled communicator who values empathy, warmth and accuracy in every interaction, responding to student enquiries promptly and professionally with clear and reassuring guidance.

If you take pride in accuracy, enjoy a broad range of responsibilities and are motivated by contributing to an excellent student experience, you will thrive here as a valued member of a supportive team.

As an Administrator you will:

Provide high‑quality, flexible administrative support, carrying out essential everyday tasks and contributing to project work to help deliver School priorities

Plan and organise your workload in line with the academic cycle

Ensure consistent and accurate record keeping, including tracking completion of compulsory student activity, logging and reporting on progress, and following agreed processes to save and maintain data

Communicate with students through shared inboxes, providing timely, professional and supportive responses, making informed decisions within your area of responsibility and knowing when to escalate or seek advice

Support welcome desk activities, contributing to a positive experience for staff, students and visitors, and to a safe, welcoming and well‑maintained environment

Support the organisation, coordination and minuting of meetings, committees, events and conferences, ensuring actions and follow‑up are recorded and progressed

You will bring:

Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to plan your own work and meet deadlines confidently

Confidence working with data, including Excel, and extensive IT skills, particularly in MS Office such as Outlook, Word and Teams

Accuracy, reliability and a willingness to learn new skills, combined with a positive and flexible approach to change

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships

A collaborative, inclusive and respectful approach that reflects the university’s value
