Job description

Principal accountabilities
HTML Development - Email
Populate, develop and build responsive HTML email templates using Dreamweaver, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects) and other necessary software.
Day-to-day management of the email marketing management system.
Build reusable, modular email components to support scalable campaign delivery across multiple teams and accounts.
Perform email campaign-specific quality assurance testing.
Adhere to production schedules and deadlines for all communications.
Collaborate and report to key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to consistently deliver quality communications that support business objectives while adhering to industry best practices and design standards.
Continuously review email campaign performance and use insights to refine design, layout and content to improve engagement and conversion
Provide best practice direction and solutions to email campaign related challenges.
Provide staff training and support with editing and updating HTML email templates.
Contribute to the development and implementation of brand guidelines.
Work with effective systems relating to quality control, workflow, customer liaison and filing / archiving, ensuring the design function operates a quality service for the University.
Work with colleagues to take a project brief, estimate the time a project will require, and advise on design approach.
Work up creative concepts as part of integrated marketing campaigns.
Work with the Design Team to ensure all creative fits with the University’s brand identity.
Keep abreast of industry design developments and technology and be able to interpret how these would impact services from a design perspective.
Proactively contribute to the work of the broader External Relations department, inputting ideas to help shape campaigns and ongoing activities.
Ensure effective communication with the line manager and wider team regarding work in progress, implementation of developments and emerging trends or issues.
Digital Design
Support the Design team in creating graphics to support campaign activity across all digital touch points (social, web, PPC) using InDesign.
Plan and deliver digital design activities on time, on budget and to a high standard.
Produce design with user experience in mind, backed up with research and evidence.
Proactively gather research to inform design, testing and learning as part of the process.
Take learnings from research and use them to create digital solutions that solve complex business challenges.
Develop creative concepts that deliver on project goals, brand and user needs.
Challenge preconceptions and assumptions of our team, the wider department and the organisation.
Contribute to project solutions.
Present and advocate design concepts and solutions to internal clients and within the team.
